Amazone: Cenius cultivators launched at 3.0-4.0m working widths

Amazone has developed the new Cenius cultivator generation, which will be introduced at Agritecnica 2009. The cultivators will be available from 2010 in working widths of 3.0m, 3.5m and 4.0m, with further working widths and features to follow.
The basic machines have a three-row tine configuration with a tine spacing of 270mm. It is intended that a two-row tine array will also be available, depending on the application. For sites with lighter soil with a moderate stone content, a tine design with shear bolt fixings is recommended. A spring-mounted tine type that can move in three dimensions is offered for sites with heavier soils on stony terrain. This tine design has already been used for several years in the Centaur towed cultivator series.
Four coulters are offered to cover a working depth range from 5-30 cm, with a quick-change system to facilitate multiple coulter changes.
For mixing in and levelling after the tine array there is a choice of leaf spring elements or maintenance-free concave discs; both can be adjusted centrally without tools.
Five following rollers are offered for precise reconsolidation in line with requirements, from a light cage roller, through tandem roller, tooth packer roller and roller tiller, to the tried-and-tested wedge ring roller.
The power requirement is approximately 35-40hp/m working width, depending on the local conditions.
