Kongskilde has developed a new cultivator-drill combination, the Vibro Seeder, which is designed for minimum tillage seeding operations and offers flexibility, high capacity and low crop establishment costs.
The Vibro Seeder is available in two versions: a lift-mounted version using the drilling technology from Nordsten in combination with a new Kongskilde lift-mounted cultivator, and the well-known Kongskilde Vibro Till 2800 trailed cultivator, using the same drilling technology.
The seed hopper can be mounted either on the cultivator frame or on the tractor front linkages. The seeds are metered from the seed hopper and pneumatically transported to the distributor heads mounted on the cultivator frame. The distributor heads ensure an even distribution to the individual seed coulters.
New seed coulters have been developed for the Vibro Seeder in order to deliver the seeds precisely behind the cultivator tine. The rear harrow – Max Flow or Wing Flow – offers a solution for covering the seeds in all soil conditions.
The machine is developed and tested for seeding grain, peas, soya beans, rape and sorghum, where the precision from a cultivator-drill combination is fully acceptable. The row distance is given by the tine pattern. Kongskilde has chosen a row distance of 150mm, which at the same time gives a good clearance for residues and an even distribution of the seeds.
Using the new Kongskilde lift-mounted cultivator or the trailed Kongskilde Vibro Till 2800 cultivator in combination with the Nordsten seed hopper offers flexibility for the farmer. Both combinations can be used for preparing the seedbed before drilling, and the Vibro Till 2800 can also be used for normal stubble cultivation.
Kongskilde Vibro Seeder will be introduced with a working width from 4-8m. Working speeds of approx 12-15km/hr offer a very high output. With the easy access to the hopper, filling is quickly and easily done either by big bags or by an auger. The power requirements for the Vibro Seeder cultivator-drill combination are very limited.
Crop farmers all over the world experience low prices for especially cereals, meaning that profit is very much related to the input. Machinery costs per hectare have therefore become a keyword in modern crop farming. When maintaining a high yield by a lower input, the result is an improved bottom line.
