After four years out of production, Väderstad has re-introduced the 3.3m rigid framed version of its Rexius Twin press to complement the folding versions that cover widths from 4.5-10.3m.
This brings this popular and versatile machine concept into the market of relatively smaller growers and farmers with tractors of about 150hp.
Weighing in at 4,800kg, the RST330 delivers a market-leading 1,455kg/working metre, enabling it to perform the same quality of cultivating as its big brothers.
The Rexius Twin press is specifically designed to effectively level, consolidate and crush clods in all light and heavy soils at a high work rate, but at a low cost and with low fuel consumption.
The powerful Raptor tines offer the ability to work after the plough or directly into stubble. Working to a maximum depth of 15cm and with a spacing of 20cm, the tines provide intense cultivation and effective trash mixing. The frame carrying the Raptor tines is hydraulically adjustable from the cab to allow the intensity of cultivation to be adjusted on the move.
The following Crossboard is used when working after the plough to further level and crush the soil in advance of the twin rings.
The heart of the Rexius Twin is the double-gang of heavy-duty, 730mm diameter rings. Mounted at a spacing of 20cm and interlocked, they are and spring-loaded to ensure that they keep turning at all times during cultivations.
The rings feature a unique section that combines an aggressive cutting edge with a broad shoulder. This produces a highly effective cutting and crushing action on clods, and an even spread of the weight across the machine’s width.
The result is that the RST will conserve vital moisture in dry conditions and improve the load bearing capacity of the land in wet conditions, leaving a soil profile perfect for sowing with a Väderstad Rapid drill.
