Kuhn: Flexible VKM flail mower

Kuhn’s VKM is the leading multi-purpose flail mower in the company’s range and is suitable for shredding grass, undergrowth, stubbles, plant residue and light wood.
Key features include the helical arrangement of bevelled hammer knives on the rotor, which ensures a more even rotation cycle that reduces vibration and power requirement and increases the suction effect.
There is an option on all VKM shredders for hydraulically operated offsetting via a sliding tube on the hitch frame. This makes them particularly suited to roadside maintenance.
The VKM uses a system of forged steel bevelled hammer knives working against a welded comb counter bar and a second straight counter bar, which is bolted in place. This design gives the machine its robust and universal shredding capability.
Height setting can be changed by adjusting a 180mm diameter rear roller, and improved ground following is made possible by adjustable lower hitch brackets.
The VKM is available in 1.70m, 1.90m, 2.10m, 2.40m, 2.80m and 3.05m working widths, with prices for standard models ranging from £4,716 to £5,916.
Other multi-purpose flail mowers from Kuhn include the BPR, while the company also supplies a wide range of field, orchard and vineyard shredders, including front-mounted machines.
