German drill and cultivator manufacturer Köckerling has introduced the new Vector cultivator to its range.
The Vector comes in four basic working widths, 4.6m, 5.7m, 6.2m and 8.0m, but these widths can be altered hydraulically to suit the soil conditions or tractor being used.
The 4.6m Vector can be increased in width to 6.0m, while the 5.7m Vector can be increased to 8.0m. This means the widest widths can be used for shallow working in the autumn and the narrower width can be used for deeper work in the springtime.
Also, when the primary high-horsepower tractor has to be switched to other duties, a smaller tractor can be used to power the Vector by reducing the working width. This makes the Vector an extremely flexible solution.
The Vector has four tine bars giving a tine spacing of 270mm. The tines are spring protected and are equipped with the Top Mix point. This three-part point has a 80mm point, a 310mm wing and a soil guide. The soil guides lift the soil to aid mixing the post harvest residues. To work deeper, the wings are removed.
The working depth is altered hydraulically from the tractor seat. The patented Easy Shift depth adjustment links the front depth wheels to the rear roller. This means that the whole tine field moves evenly up or down when the depth is altered.
The Vector is equipped with levellers and cross boards between the last row of tines and the STS roller. The double STS roller re-consolidates the soil giving good weed-to-soil contact, while a rear harrow completes the finish.
