Claydon has launched a new mounted Straw Harrow to work alongside its direct drills.
Available in 6m and 8m working widths, the machine features hardwearing tines that can be hydraulically adjusted to alter their angle to the ground.
The company says the Straw Harrow is ideal for anyone looking to min-till or drill directly into stubbe. It’s fast and effective, working at up to 25km/hr, and has a low power requirement.
The aim of the machine is to rake any remaining straw along the ground, beaking it down to give an even distribution. By only causing minor soil disturbance, the land retains moisture making the harrow the ideal tool for germinating weed seeds before spraying.
Moving the straw and exposing slugs and their eggs to the sun helps reduce their numbers.
