Amazone and Krone end their partnership

From September 1, Amazone and Krone will go their separate ways in Great Britain. The distribution partnership the two companies have enjoyed for the past 12 years will be dissolved, allowing Amazone and Krone to concentrate on their individual sales, service and distribution businesses, providing a more personalised and efficient service and support to their customers.
The British affiliation between Amazone and Krone was initially set up as a strategic alliance between the two companies, allowing them to spread overhead costs across two complementary equipment lines. Since the partnership was formed in 1997, Amazone and Krone have both expanded, extending their ranges and producing larger and more sophisticated machinery for the arable and grass markets respectively.
Consequently, it became evident that both companies would benefit from running individual sales, service and distribution teams here.
“Under current arrangements, that would take a major investment in infrastructure, people and resources,” explained Simon Brown, of Amazone. “By going our separate ways, we can each focus on the particular needs of our products, the dealers that supply them, and the farmers who use them.”
And while it may seem like the end of an era, it is a positive progression for both companies, according to Marcus Oliver, of Krone, who explained that the new arrangement will be greatly beneficial to both companies.
“While Krone’s grass product line and Amazone’s arable products are complementary, there are seasonal overlaps that leave little breathing space for the essentials such as dealer service, parts and sales training,” he said. “For this reason, the new situation will enable Amazone and Krone to be more attentive to their individual customer needs.”
From September 1, Krone will relocate to West Yorkshire, while Amazone will remain at its current Harworth premises.
