Agrifac: Sprayer range coming to the UK

Agrifac plans to market its sprayers in the UK.

Agrifac UK Ltd is the new name for Agrihold Farm Machinery UK Ltd, following changes in late 2008 to the Dutch parent company Agrimac Holdings BV.

The newly formed company, under the direction of two entrepreneurs with in-depth knowledge of the previously produced machines, will continue to produce and support Amac self-propelled potato harvesters and Agrifac self-propelled sugar beet harvesters, as well as the company’s range of self-propelled and trailed sprayers. All products will now be marketed under the Agrifac brand.

Speaking recently at the Agrifac factory at Steenwijk, Holland, the general manager of Agrifac UK Ltd, Ernie Wool, said Agrifac was now on a firm financial footing and the prime objective was to re-establish the confidence of its products in the UK market.

“Many aspects of production have been restructured and we are now confident that we can offer on-time deliveries, which has been a bit of a problem in the past,” he said. “We are looking to increase our presence in the market place and are particularly pleased that the new directors are placing more emphasis on the profile of the sprayer range.

“The UK is an important market for Agrifac sprayers and we will be developing a dedicated dealer network to handle our professional sprayer range for professional operators.”

Spraying widths from 24-54m are available with the Agrifac range of sprayers, along with tank capacities from 3,200-7,200 litres. Self-propelled machines are fitted with air suspension as standard, while a patented chassis design increases stability by placing the centre of gravity in the centre of the machine. An even weight distribution of 25% on each wheel is constantly maintained, which minimises boom yaw if a wheel goes into a hole or over an obstacle.

“The UK is lagging behind other European countries that use wide booms to increase output,” Mr Wool added. “We have ambitious plans and look forward to developing the Agrifac brand in the high-capacity sprayer market.”
