Same Deutz-Fahr’s penetration of the Eastern Counties has now been further strengthened by the appointment of Wisbech-based Bennett & Tegerdine as a Deutz-Fahr dealer.
The news comes hot on the heels of a series of other recent major appointments in the eastern sector – Suffolk Agri-Centre, at Pakenham; Grundy Agricultural, at Washingborough; Stalham Engineering, at Norwich, and Johnson Bros, at Fakenham.
Headed up by Rob Bennett and Gary Tegerdine, the new dealership has its premises at College Lodge Works, Wisbech St Mary, Cambridgeshire, the site once used by Hircocks Engineers.
“Gary and I used to work for Hircocks before we set up our own agricultural machinery repair business,” Mr Bennett said. “When the Hircocks business closed a couple of years ago we saw it as an opportunity to expand and become established as a main dealer in the area.”
Mr Bennett added that the vast range of Deutz-Fahr tractors available – from 55hp right up to 275hp – would suit his customers well.
“We have large-scale arable growers who need the power and reliability of the top-end Deutz-Fahr tractors and we also have the vegetable growers who require smaller models and will also be keenly interested in the Deutz-Fahr TTV tractors with their stepless transmissions,” he sais. “We are also looking forward to being able to offer the Deutz-Fahr combine harvester range.”
According to SDF’s general manager, Ken Hamilton, the appointment of Bennett & Tegerdine was a further example of the respect and recognition the industry now has for the Deutz-Fahr brand.
“I am confident we can look to further expansion with top level dealer representation not only in the eastern counties but also in other key parts of the UK,” he said.
