The new Laser Evolution from Tecnoma, the founder member of the French Exel Group, is not just an upgrade of this best selling self-propelled sprayer, but a completely new model. It embraces new technology and delivers an exceptionally high specification that clearly demonstrates Tecnoma’s understanding of the global market.
The latest Laser Evolution offers rota-moulded polyethylene tank capacities of 3,200 and 4,200 litres, both incorporating a rinse tank of 440 litres and internal tank cleaning nozzles. A comprehensive range of steel and aluminium booms offer operating widths up to an impressive 42m. The award winning Autonet sequential rinsing system, also available on Tecnoma’s trailed units, allows the operator to completely rinse the main tank from the cab, taking a portion of clean water each time it is rinsed via a separate transfer pump.
The Deutz Tier 3 engine delivers the punch required, delivering 180hp in the 3240 and 200hp in the 4240 models respectively. Hydrostatic drive via quick load-sensing wheel motors, together with the Hydro Pilot, deliver smooth and responsive field and road speeds of up to 40km/hr.
The Bosch Rexroth hydrostatics offer a well-balanced and high-performance solution for today’s demanding conditions, together with two- and four-wheel steering, crab and rear-axle slope correction functions.
The new chassis incorporates the well acclaimed Axair suspension linked axles, together with heavy-duty articulated joints. Under-belly clearance is from the standard 1.05m to a massive 1.60m, with track widths from 1.80-2.25m standard to a 3.00m option.
Tecnoma’s UK product specialist, Alan Mayhew, said the Axair suspension system with automatic weight compensation offered market leading operator comfort and boom stability at the high field and road speeds demanded by today’s market.
“Operator comfort has been a key element in the design of this new sprayer,” he said. “The new panoramic cab offers excellent all round visibility, space and accessibility for the operator – key elements for the high work rates expected in today’s spraying programmes, weather conditions and environmental impacts.”
Rear cab access is via a hydraulic ladder, and once inside the operator can enjoy the benefits of climate-controlled air conditioning, a fully adjustable pneumatic seat, MP3 radio and Bluetooth. Defrosting rear-view mirrors and eight cab work lights also come as standard.
The chemical filling area is completely enclosed. When accessed this provides a raise and fall chemical induction hopper with 400 lit/min fast fill. Two multi-way function valves provide user-friendly operation procedures for tank filling, chemical induction and spraying modes.
The new Novaflow control system displays all the information for filling the tank. It is directly linked to the Novatec Iso-Bus DPAE (proportional application to forward speed) control system. The ergonomic joystick gives pure versatility for the operator, offering controls for directional and speed changes, as well as boom section sequences.
An upgrade from Novatec to Novatop brings a colour monitor and easy-to-use precision agriculture technology into everyday sprayer operations, and offers compatibility with communication and recording tasks. The Egnos DGPS antenna provides a fully integrated GPS mapping system, with optional light bar guidance, automatic boom section control and variable-rate application. Automatic steering via RTK offers the operator increased efficiency in fields without tramlines.
