Reekie has enhanced its Cultistar and Cultiweb range of separators with a hydraulically powered rotary scrubber web that aids the separation of soil and stones from immediately behind the contoured intake rotor.
Such action aids the flow of material to be separated without roll back, which has been shown to be beneficial on downhill slopes.
As with all other hydraulically powered features on these types of machines, control is from the in-cab box that continues to feature a Can-bus system. A Cultistar featuring this option is available for demonstration throughout East Anglia, subject to availability.
The prototype version of this concept has been shipped to a Scandinavian dealer for demonstrations in the heavy clay and stone conditions that predominate in his country.
The Cultiweb machine trialled during 2008 with a Lincolnshire grower was purchased and is now aiding with the planting of 600 acres where a high content of limestone exists.
New markets for the Reekie soil preparation system are growing in Eastern Europe as potato production increases and the quality aspect dominates.
The Reekie range of Dominant Harvesters is now in production for sale and demonstration during the 2009 harvest period. Following satisfactory retrofits of the Evolution separating system on customers’ harvesters during 2008, a demonstration machine with an Evo-Sep will be available.
This machine will also feature a new discharge elevator for conveying the crop from machine to trailer.
