In recent years Ernest Doe & Sons’ Big Baler Centre has worked alongside PhiBer Manufacturing Inc, of Canada, to promote and sell the PhiBer AC3104 accumulator to work with 80cm wide (four-string) big square bales.
Much has been the interest in this concept that in 2008 the Pomi 120 from Denmark was also introduced to the range, giving an accumulator to place bales in the same format as the PhiBer, but to work with 120cm wide (six-string) bales.
Both accumulators are easy to operate and work in a similar way, giving a maximum of three bales side-by-side in automatic mode.
The benefits of using an accumulator are, in short: to improve efficiency in bale handling by reducing the amount of in-field running around; to help reduce ground compaction; to reduce the amount of time to clear a field; and to help minimise costs.
Both bale accumulators are easy to use and have been designed with contractors in mind, so they are strong and robust with a minimum of moving parts. Operators are able to windrow, or they can utilise an automatic or manual dumping pattern from the control box, depending on your requirements.
