McConnel has introduced a new dimension to its mid-range hedge and verge cutting power arm technology by adding a variable forward reach (VFR) option on the PA600 power arm that offers a total movement range of 2.6m.
This new development brings the flailhead right alongside and in front of the driver, providing an even safer and more ergonomic operating position.
“While improvements in the operation of power arm technology have been ongoing in recent years as you would expect, this is a notable development,” McConnel’s marketing manager Wayne Brown said. “It enables the driver to operate in the traditional cutting position and, when conditions allow, power the flailhead forward up to 1.6m.
“The fact that you can also shift the cutting head backwards making it possible to cut directly behind the tractor wheel in narrow lanes and tight environments.”
Available now from McConnel dealers for the PA55, PA60, PA5600 and PA6400 machines, the new VFR option costs £3,600.
