John Deere: Expanded territory for Farol Ltd

Milton common Oxfordshire-based Farol Ltd has been awarded the John Deere territory vacated by John Seale Ltd in the South of England.
Farol, which itself moved from Case IH to John Deere in 2004, is now responsible for selling the brand in a sales area that stretches from Atherstone, in Warwickshire, to the English Channel.
As well as its Atherstone and Milton Common branches, the firm has depots at Byfield, near Daventry, and Shefford Woodlands, near Hungerford. The appointment to the new territory will also mean the opening of a new branch, probably near Midhurst, West Sussex, in the early part of this year.
Farol managing director Matthew Vellacott said the company would be fully up and running in the new area – (from just east of Southampton to Brighton) – as soon as it found a suitable depot and had appointed good people.
“In the meantime, we will support the area from our Oxford and Hungerford depots, and I’d encourage new customers to call our head office on 01844 278843 to open an account.
“We are very much looking forward to the challenge of serving many new customers, and are especially excited due to the historical connections of the Velacott family to the area.”
Farol Ltd was founded near Thame by George Vellacott (ex Scats manager based in Hampshire) in 1976. The company started with the FiatAgri franchise, before moving to Case IH in 1988.
The company began to expand in 1999 when it built a new agri machinery retail business premises at Byfield, while a year later a third depot was added at Pewsey, Wiltshire (replaced by Hungerford in 2004) – and Matthew Vellacott became managing director of the company.
Appointed as a Manitou dealer at its Hungerford, Milton Common and Byfield depots in 2008, Farol Ltd sold more than 200 tractors and achieved a turnover in excess of £30 million in the year to January 2009.
