Berthoud: Ulys booms offer stability with flexibility

Berthoud’s new Ulys rear-mounted, vertical-folding boom gives outstanding stability – especially on turns and sloping ground – due to its central pivot position, anti-yaw and automatic angle correction system. An arrangement of return springs and shock absorbers also ensure a smooth ride.

Available in 18, 20, 21 and 24m widths, the boom’s individual sections are hydraulically controlled, offering a full range of folding options to suit different spraying needs. Once spraying is complete the whole assembly folds neatly within a 2.55m width for safe road transport at speeds up to 40km/hr.

The Ulys boom is available in a three versions to suit the individual operator’s needs: the standard model with hydraulic folding/unfolding; SEH with independent boom folding; and ED-GV with the total flexibility of variable geometry folding.
Between them, these  booms meet the needs of all mounted sprayer operators including contractors, who need flexibility to meet different customer needs, and row-crop farmers, who can select spraying widths and patterns to suit individual crops.

The sturdy, chemical-resistant boom is engineered from pressed steel with integral nozzle holders and wiring for added protection against accidental damage.

The Ulys has been developed to complement Berthoud’s award-winning Elyte range of 1,000-, 1,200 and 1,600-litre mounted sprayers.
