Four new MF5400 Series models are equipped with powerful 86-112hp engines, slick changing Dyna-4 transmissions and strong high-flow hydraulics that combine to provide users with top productivity in a wide range of work.
The latest technology common rail, four valve/cylinder engines generate class-leading power and torque for the new MF5445 and MF5455, while the smaller MF5425 and MF5435 feature straightforward and responsive 4.4 litre, turbocharged and intercooled engines.
Maximum power on these new models is increased by 11hp on the MF5425, 13hp on the MF5435, 10hp on the MF5445 and 12hp on the MF5455. The electronically-controlled engines in the two larger models also provide the ability to boost the maximum power by up to 13hp for transport – operating automatically when 3rd or 4th gear is selected on the Dyna-4 transmission. This helps to reduce journey times as well as improve fuel efficiency.
All of the new MF5400 Series are claimed to be superb loader tractors, providing a unique combination of features including the option of a sloping bonnet and Visio Roof.
The entire MF5400 Series now comprises nine tractors from 86-145hp (max ISO). All models from the 95hp MF 5445 also provide a Power Boost for transport work – no other manufacturer offers this feature on tractors less than 100hp rated power. These exceptional workhorses pack ‘big’ tractor features into a more compact package, combining superb power to weight ratios with great visibility and easy to use features.
All the MF 5400 Series are equipped with Massey Ferguson’s acclaimed Dyna-4, semi-powershift transmission, which provides 16F/16R gears and completely clutchless operation after pulling away. The highly efficient mechanical gearbox combines economical operation with ease of use – particularly for loader operations where its standard left-hand ‘Power Control’ lever provides simple shuttling.
A range of PTO systems to suit every type of work and application is available for the MF5400 Series. Options include 540rpm or 540/1,000 along with economy and ground speeds. All speed changes are shiftable from inside and outside the cab.
Hydraulic power comes from a two-pump, open-centre system that supplies up to four single or double acting mechanically-operated spool valves or a combination of both. Hydraulic flow of 100 lit/min is now also available as an option on the two smallest, MF5425 and MF5435 tractors, further boosting loader performance.
The six cylinder models in the MF5400 Series feature an optional 2.8 tonne capacity integrated front linkage and PTO. New front axle support casting provides a neat, compact mounting for additional strength and a tighter turning circle.
