With the launch of its new Terra-Felis self-propelled cleaner loader, Holmer has completed its range of equipment for sugar-beet harvesting, and UK Holmer importer Standen-Reflex has announced availability for the 2009 sugar beet harvest.
Loading sugar beet at more than 250t/hr, Terra-Felis uses proven technology in a machine designed for high performance with maximum economic efficiency.
The pick-up unit is 9m wide, capable of handling clamps up to 8.5m wide, with the useful ability to pick-up sugar beet from level concrete as well as in the field. The discharge elevator is 13m long and operates at up to 6m high, it can be swung through 300 degrees to reach over hedges and dikes.
Powered by a Deutz 299hp engine, the Terra-Felis features power-on-demand computerised engine management to ensure the most efficient use of power and fuel at all times.
A purpose-built driver’s cabin features a user friendly control and screen interface with precision joystick control of major functions, a high degree of comfort with clear all-round visibility, climate control, effective sound and heat insulation and a quality CD/radio with Bluetooth mobile ‘phone compatibility. Two cameras and a colour monitor are also fitted as standard. A diesel cabin heater is optionally available with programmable on/off schedules or a remote switch on facility activated by mobile ‘phone.
Well known for the quality, performance and reliability of its Terra-Dos harvesters, Holmer enjoyed a high level of sales success on mainland Europe with Terra-Felis during 2007, and is now looking to demonstrate the potential of the machine to sugar beet growers, harvesting contractors and hauliers in the UK.
