DEUTZ-FAHR has expanded its combine range to include two high capacity rotary models – the 7535RTS and the larger 7545RTS.
This major development is the result of a ‘Technical and Commercial Agreement’ with Argentine combine harvester manufacturer Vassalli Fabril in which Deutz-Fahr purchased the technical knowledge used in the production of the Vassalli AX 7500 combine.
It is an agreement which will allow both companies to share future R&D investment to make better use of resources. The new combines are to be built at Deutz-Fahr’s Croatian plant alongside the straw walker machines.
Power for the 7535 RTS and the 7545 RTS is supplied by Deutz common rail engines – the 350hp Deutz 2013 7.2 litre in the 7535 and 450hp Deutz 2015-V6 12 litre in the 7545. Interestingly, four wheel drive is standard.
The main threshing area employs a single rotor measuring 3.15m in length and 0.75m in diameter with a total separation area of 2.64 sq m. The system employs a feed roller and straw extractor.
For optimum cleaning efficiency, sieve ventilation is provided by turbines feeding air through a double fall stepped sieve. Harvested grain is stored in a 9,000-litre tank and is unloaded at a rate of 90 litres/second.
Other features include a spacious, sound proofed cab with curved windows and major controls centred on a single joystick. The monitoring and display of all functions is provided by a computer with touch screen selection.
The introduction of rotary combines to the Deutz-Fahr range is, of course welcomed by SDF’s Ireland and UK Sales Manager Paul Concannon who points out that it now opens up a whole new market.
“We have performed very well with our straw walker machines but they are only half of the market,” he says. “The new rotary machine allows us to become a part of the whole combine harvester market and be able to provide top quality, high capacity machines for the larger arable grower.”
