CTM Root Crop Systems: Rockstar de-stoners revealed

CTM Root Crop Systems unveiled its new Rockstar de-stoner/separator, the latest addition to its successful potato machinery range, at Lamma 2009.

The machine combines more than 50 years of stone and clod separation technology gained from the company’s CTM beet cleaner loaders.

There will be eight models, with a choice of web and/or star separators. Immediately noticeable on the new Rockstar is the distinctive front diablo roller, which ensures effective depth control and maximised intake flow. There is a full range of web pitch options from 28-50mm to suit different soil conditions in 1,500 or 1,700mm widths, and an advanced levelling system for uniform, clean results.

The easy-to-use, in-cab control panel incorporates full graphic displays of operational status.

“There is a choice of a long wheelbase model with up to five webs or four webs plus stars, and a compact model with stars, or stars and webs, all designed for low maintenance,” explained Kevin Butcher. “We believe we are coming into the market with a range that surpasses all other separators, but growers will have to wait until Lamma to see all the innovations that come as standard with these superb machines.

“We expect a lot of interest and bookings for demonstrations.”

The CTM Rockstar joins the company’s Underhaug planters and harvesters and Zebo haulm toppers in a developing catalogue of machinery.
