Massey Ferguson launched its 8600 Series tractors at this year’s Eima Show, at Bologna, Italy, and immediately picked up two top awards for the flagship MF8690 model.
As well as taking the Tractor of the Year 2009 title, the new tractor was also the recipient of the Golden Tractor Design Award.
MF launched five models from the MF8600 and MF8600 Excellence Series at the event. Fitted with Tier 3, common-rail Sisu engines, the tractors range from the 270hp MF8650 to the 370hp MF8690.
All MF8600 series tractors have a heavy-duty version of the Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission, while the new Dynamic Tractor Management system provides an electronic link from the transmission to the engine.
Additional features of the MF8600 Excellence models include the new SpeedSteer function, which allows the driver to adjust the ratio of steering wheel turns relative to front-wheel movement.
