Jones Engineering: Trailed triple-row potato planter launched

The Jones Engineering triple-row potato planter.

Designed with a 3,000kg central hopper for easier filling, the Jones Engineering triple potato planter has been designed to accommodate three individual planter units that work on a parallelogram to allow each one to float independently.

The central hopper feeds potatoes out to the planter units by sensor-controlled belts. Keeping a minimum number of tubers in the planter unit helps eliminate damage.

Each planter unit has depth-sensing wheels to ensure the correct depth of planting. They also come complete with ridging bodies or covering hoods.

Because it is a trailed machine, the Jones Engineering planter can be easily pulled with a 120hp tractor, which reduces compaction in the wheelings. It folds hydraulically for easy transport to the field.
