Briggs Irrigation: More protection for Roto Rainer pumpsets

A NEW dry run protection system is being offered by Briggs Irrigation as an option on its range of RotoRainer progressive cavity pumpsets.

Dry run protection has been a popular addition for several years, but unlike previous fittings the new system operates on the suction side of the pump, shutting the pump down after just 20 seconds during start-up or immediately during normal operation if there is no liquid in the pipe, thus giving improved protection for the scroll and stator.

The pump’s new control panel then displays the reason for the shut down in a clear format and a high-density red light is activated above the pumpset as before.

“There are now at least 4,500 Roto Rainers operating in the UK and in other parts of the world,” Director Adrian Colwill said. “Our pumpsets could be considered a plug-and-play solution in that they are very easy to commission and put to work, and we believe the new protection system will be accepted as a welcome refinement by many livestock farmers.”
